Shakushi and momiji manjyu Experience
On the first floor, visiters can see displays of traditional Miyajima handicrafts. Engraved trays, engraved tea utensils, clay bells, and papier-mache are a few of the items on display.
On the second floor, you can try making Momiji Manjyu (a maple leaf shaped waffle).
On the third floor, you can create your own Shakushi (a rice scoop). Instructors are available to assist you with your projects.
Fees for Hands-on Activities(Admission Free)
Fee for Shakushi Making ¥324 yen; (Approximate time required: 1 hour)
Fee for Momiji Manjyu Making ¥756yen (including a souvenir); (Approximate time required: 1 hour)
* The fees should be payed by CASH on site.
* Reservations are necessary to participate in an activity. (You can make a reservation up to one year in advance. Reservations should be made no later than one week before your visit.
Participation Requirement To participate in the hands-on activities, you must have a group of five or more.
Up to 40 people can attend at one time.
