The aquarium opened on August 1st, 2011 with the basic concept of ‘Healing and ‘Interaction’.
Touching penguins
See the living creatures that the Aquarium has to offer and participate and experience them. The Finless Porpoise is the symbol of the Miyajima Aquarium.
We have more than 13,000 creatures of nearly 350 species. We also have a reproduction of an oyster raft that floats on the sea in the aquarium, the biggest in the Miyajima Aquarium, and the ‘Friendly Seashore’ where visitors can observe, and actually touch the creatures.
